Cave’d in
twenty-nineth post in celebrity-crush-confession Wednesday series of “why wendy’s single”.
Reason # 29: Cave’d in
the love cupboard is crowded
I’m communing with the creations
of Mr. Cave and the Bad Seeds
They’re there for my soul.

Was looking for something on the ipod to soundtrack a bad morning this morning during the commute to work and settled on Nick Cave’s Nocturama. Surprised to see him here, lovely picture too. Didn’t quite associate Wendy with being a Bad Seeds fan though.
One of the things that makes me happy about listening to Nick Cave is that he is one of the few musicians who grew up with me, from Birthday Party to what he does now, “mellowing” with age and being intense about maybe the same issues but in different musical context. Still look forward to and buy each record he puts out religiously. Can’t say that for many others.
Have not seen The Proposition though but love the soundtrack.
Saw him a few times at the Birmingham Powerhouse in the early 80′s. Were you there?

Any self respecting tea drinker, that looks like a cuppa infront of Nick, has to appreciate lyrics like:
“I went to bed last night and my moral code got jammed
I woke up this morning with a frappucino in my hand“
(Abattoir Blues)
