I'm looking forward to the second, third & fouth female members of the team. Then we shall see equality. Now if they were also from a different eithnic background as well then even more reason to loup the loup. diversity at the speed of sound. Now that would be anazing.

Quite so. Planet Wendy is on the innovative front of the milky way of r-evolutionionary spellings and meanings.

Innovative not fittist

The planet's propagational quotient is indeed proving to be quite low, with the possible exclusion of grocer's quotations and hyphenationalisms

While I often agree with Wittgenstein - 'meaning is use' - it's going to take a while for excluded to mean anything other than 'shut out'. Use it like that often enough and people will come to understand - proactively work on changing the language around to fit your brain! ;-)

I understood women were not allowed to apply to be RAF pilots until 1989. While I agree with Ashley's comments I think it is wonderful that a woman will be flying as part of the red arrow team during the Olympics in 2012. (Well it seems probable as the team stay together for 3 years before returning to the front line).

It certainly doesn't say women were excluded from the Red Arrows before 2010.

It would be interesting to find out when women were allowed to take on front line duties in the RAF - that's the actual question.

Active service in the services, a dubious outcome of equality - yes, now you're allowed to kill people, please. Would've been a friendlier outcome if the fight for equality had worked the other and men too had been disqualified from working the war zones.
