During a conversation about Reading town pubs, one fellow suddenly blurts out
I love your house!
wendy: that’s the right answer, me too (huge cheshire cat grin)
fellow: it’s like a secret courtyard hidden away from the city, in the heart of the city!
wendy: (HUGE Grin – pours the fellow more alcohol)

Good to hear from you Mathias, yes! It was a lovely compliment and gets to the heart of why I fell in love with the place. It’s like a secret garden. Recently some people from up the street dropped by to get me involved in a local dispute about parking regulations, they too commented on how fabulous my garden was. The gardens only 3 years old. The garden was all patio when I moved in and I took-up the stones to put in borders and plant Acers, foxgloves, primroses, lavendar, lilacs and a magnolias. It’s so right for me, I’m so lucky
