Witness: Yes, “The Wendy House’, where is it?
Wendy: down by the [local landmark]
Witness: I used to live in ‘The Wendy house’ [Describes its layout and location in a recognisable way]
Wendy: What was living there like?
Witness: Well, the boiler broke so I have lots of memories of a cold dark unpleasant time, I’m sure its not like that now. My partner kept getting confused about the orientation of the house and would walk into the wardrobe when he meant to leave the room to go downstairs. Wendy: [highlights this difference and mentions the street name]
Witness: The Wendy House we lived in was on [name] street
More than one Wendy House in the district how cosey is that!
Reading has 15 conservation areas. The Borough council wants to maintain the character of the areas and uses more regulations governing upgrades and maintenance of a property than outside of a conservation area. I phoned the planning department to check whether they knew about the updates to the possible new Wendy House I’ve asked to buy.
Planner: whats your current address?
Wendy: the big white house
Planner: I know that! my best friend used to live there…

Before moving to the temporary Wendy House in Reading I spent all of 5 minutes looking for bloggers who confessed to a connection with Reading. I found Reading Roars and Scary Duck. After turning up in Reading I built a ‘feel’ for liveable-in places in Reading by riding some of the local bus routes. Most circular routes appear to take less than 45 mins. That’s a sizist comment: “Reading, the size of several 45 mins circular bus routes“. Apparantly this photograph of buses passing on Route 24 was taken very near the cardboard box that ScaryDuck claims to live in.
